About DFPP Academy
DFPP Academy exists because DFPP LLC — a small Kansas City company, not a foundation or a school district — chose to fund it as a pilot.
What DFPP means
DFPP stands for Desire, Faith, Planning, and Persistence — the four things behind everything DFPP LLC builds, including this program.
Desire
It started with a conversation at a conclave with two Omega Psi Phi brothers running programs for students in Detroit and DC — one serving at-risk youth, one a broader student population. Both wanted their students to have real AI skills, not just a device policy. That's the gap this fills.
Faith
The belief that a student's zip code shouldn't decide whether they get hands-on AI literacy. That's why this program is free, and stays free for the pilot — not a discount that runs out.
Planning
Two tracks, one shared curriculum — biweekly live mentorship over Zoom, self-paced coursework between sessions, and an adaptive engine that adjusts to how each student actually learns. Mapped out before a single lesson was written.
Persistence
This runs on the same follow-through DFPP LLC builds everything on. The mentors show up every two weeks. The curriculum doesn't disappear after a launch — it develops with the students in it.
